Alex Newton (Analysis Assistant)

    Alex Newton is currently pursuing a Master of Music in music theory at the University of Tennessee. As a teaching assistant within the School of Music, Alex teaches courses in both beginning and advanced aural skills. He received his B. M. in music theory and composition at Appalachian State University, where he also served as an instructional assistant in the theory division. An active pianist, Alex continues to perform around the Knoxville, TN metropolitan area. Following completion of his Masters degree, Alex plans to pursue a Ph.D. in music theory with a primary research focus music theory pedagogy.

Talina Pasour (Analysis Assistant)

Talina Pasour is a senior Flute Performance major at Appalachian State University. She was an instructional assistant for an upper level Music Theory course in the fall of 2006 and will be assisting with an Aural Skills class spring 2007. Upon graduation she will be entering a Masters of Music program in Music Theory.
